Key Stage 2 PE Field Hockey Showcase
Thursday 4th February, 8:45 – 9:45am
@ Graceway Sports Centre
The children in Years 5 and 6 will be participating in our first Spring Term PE Showcase this week. We are pleased to bring field hockey back to our PE curriculum this year. Children in Years 5 & 6 have been refining the skills required to play, from positioning and passing to travelling with the ball and shooting.
Children have been divided into 5 teams for a mini-tournament. Each team will participate in a mini league where the top two teams on goal difference will compete in a grand final.
Thank you to K & J in Year 6 for designing this fantastic poster.
I look forward to seeing as many parents and community friends at the event as possible!
Regards,
Mr George
PE Coordinator

Our Year 6 adventurers returned home today full of stories and tales to tell of their 5 day trip to

These parent guides will help you to see the progression of a child’s understanding of number and calculations from the Early Years through to Year 6. They demonstrate the teaching stages of each of the 4 operations:
Year six students have been studying the work of Van Gogh. We paid particular attention to his famous still life: Sunflowers. Using this as stimulus, the students got busy creating their own flower still life using a variety of flowers. Look closely at our photos and you will discover some very exotic ones!

Year 6 students have enjoyed studying the human body; which has been the main focus of our learning in science this term. They made an impressive start to this topic by relaying facts that they already knew about the human body and the questions that they wanted to explore about bodily functions as the topic progressed.
On Tuesday, Key Stage 2 took part in our highly successful annual PE showcase. The children modeled all the skills that the KS2 teaching team have taught them in this half term in gymnastics and basketball.
Year 6 has made an impressive start to their new topic Natural Disasters. ‘Board blasting’ natural and man-made disasters kick started our thinking into this area. The children were then able to define the differences between such disasters and realised that our planet can become angry at times.
