Grade Four Visit Cheshire Halls

Before Spring Break, the Grade Four children enjoyed a trip to Cheshire Halls. Cheshire Halls is a 200 year-old ruin of a former cotton plantation. The National Trust has carefully preserved the site so that it stays as one of Providenciales’ key historic attractions.

The children had a fun and informative tour (and a free Birds of TCI calendar). They especially enjoyed smelling and tasting some of the fresh herbs which still grow on the estate.

We walked around Cheshire Halls and looked at all the interesting remains.

We visited a well…it was very, very deep.

In the Slave Cabin was a small bed. We didn’t find it very comfortable.

We had a go at sweeping.

There were a lot of cotton plants at Cheshire Halls.

We all liked the smell (and taste) of the herbs. One of our favourites was the lemon grass.

Here we all are sitting on the remains of the main house.

We were all lucky enough to be given a calendar to remember are trip by.
