Grade 3 Rainforest Art

Have a look at our amazing rainforest artwork! Click below to see more of our paintings and to learn how we created them…

Over the past few weeks, we have been creating rainforest painting compositions in stages. First, we painted a pale green background, and on top of this, some leaves in various shades of green. Next, we chose and painted our rainforest animals. We used feathers to add texture to our birds. Finally, we created, or found from nature: branches, flowers and more leaves, and arranged them into our final composition. We used some foam squares behind some parts to add a 3 dimensional effect.

View our rainforest artwork slideshow and listen to us playing some rainforest sounds. It takes a little while to download – but it is well worth the wait!
We hope you enjoyed looking at our work and feel inspired to create your own rainforest painting! Why not send us a photo of it if you do.

What Beautiful pictures -I love every one of them! I also like the way they were displayed so that the other children could see them.

I love the music too..It reminds me so much of when I went to Costa Rica.

    Floppy

  3. Miss briggs says:

Look out! I think the tiger is ready to jump right out of the picture! Wonderful jobs, young artists. The way you used found materials to create your composition is both creative and resourceful. Does the parrot know how to say anything?
“Sqwuak…here comes the tiger! Here comes the tiger! Sqwuak!”
What a smart teacher you have to come up with such a creative art and social studies project.
    Well done to all involved!

    From,

Miss. Briggs, all the way over in c-c-c-cold Canada!
