In the last few weeks, Grade 2’s have been practicing some yoga poses as part of the school day. The children really enjoy it!

“Children are naturally radiant, aware and full of innocent wisdom. Children are big souls in little bodies and will learn best from their own experience, lead them to their inner teacher with your words and actions!” Radiant child yoga program.

Yoga can help children to stay calm, to resolve inner conflicts and to develop their self confidence. I believe that without a high self esteem, a child will not perform to his or her best potential. Whilst doing this, they can also have fun!

As part of our yoga we have been learning some songs with important meanings.

I am Sara’s mum and I have enjoyed listening to your lovely song. I hope you are enjoying your yoga with Sara. I go to yoga classes myself.
The children in England are looking forward to Christmas – are you? It is very cold and windy here but we have not had any snow yet.

  2. Grade 3 says:

The yoga looks fantastic. We enjoyed trying to match the story to your slideshow. You must have really worked hard at learning it. We have someone in our class that goes to Mrs. Sara yoga after school club and she was able to tell us the names of some of your positions. We would love it if Mrs. Sara could teach us all some yoga.

    From grade 3

  3. MAUREEN COOK says:

The pictures of you practicing yoga tell me that you are enjoying it very much, and you sound so happy singing the songs.
I have not heard of any schools in England teaching yoga, so I think you are very lucky. Keep practicing and have fun!

  4. Carly Webster says:

Fantastic….what a great idea teaching yoga to children. You guys are very lucky to have a teacher like Sara. Enjoy the yoga and keep up the hard work! Happy Christmas from Carly & Maisie!

  5. R H Grade 4 says:

I THINK THAT DOING YOGA WITH THE GRADE 2S IS WONDERFUL BECAUSE THEN IT IS MUCH EASIER FOR THEM TO RELAX. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU’RE DOING MISS SARA.

  6. Andrew says:

    Aum mani padmi hum.
    Aum mani padmi hum
    Aum mani padmi hum
    Aum mani padmi hum

“May the jewel in the lotus be realised” – or words to that effect!!

Or is it Aum Nava Shivaya!! – Mystic wanderer and guru of yoga among the gods.

Simply, we all have a light within, which when nurtured glows ever brighter.

  7. J H' Grandma & Grandpa says:

We enjoyed hearing your two lovely songs & reading the story. What a lot of Yoga positions you have learned already! Mrs. Sara must be a really good teacher. J, do you think you’ll be able to teach us some Yoga this summer?
