We started our two week topic on Non-Fiction writing last week. We began by looking at different Non-Fiction books and made a shared list of their features. We discussed the purpose of each of the features and used our checklist to decide whether different books were Non-Fiction or Fiction.
Now we were experts we could begin to think about writing our own Non-Fiction books! Our books are all about ‘Going to School’. We have spent our Shared Writing sessions contributing to our class big book and have added a little more to our own individual books each day.
Our books include headings, pictures, captions, labels and lists. We used our ICT session this week to design a picture to go on our front cover. We will add a contents page to our books at the end of the week.
