\"\"<\/a>In Year 1, we have been learning about how a tadpole develops into a frog.\u00a0 Frogs are amphibians.\u00a0 They can live in water and on land.\u00a0 We have researched the different stages that occur during a frog\u2019s life cycle.<\/p>\n

Miss Tracy’s Kindergarten class has tadpoles in their classroom and very kindly invited us to take a look.\u00a0 We used magnifying glasses to study the tadpoles more closely.<\/p>\n

We discovered that on the first day, female frogs lay thousands of eggs in the water\u00a0\u00a0 At first, they need to stay in the water to survive.\u00a0 As amphibians grow, they change.\u00a0 After a while, they are able to breathe air and go on land.<\/p>\n

After about two weeks, tadpoles begin to hatch from the eggs the female frog has laid. \u00a0They have a long, strong tail.\u00a0 Tadpoles live in water and breathe through gills.\u00a0 Soon, the tadpole grows two back legs and two front legs.\u00a0 The tadpole\u2019s tail becomes shorter. \u00a0The tadpole is slowly changing into a frog.\u00a0 They become grown up frogs as they lose their tails and develop lungs.\u00a0 This allows the frog to climb out of the water and begin to breathe air.<\/p>\n
