\"\"<\/a>This week, children in Key Stage 2 were excited to present their PE learning in our end of term showcase event. Older children participated in a Gymnastics Show while children in Years 3 and 4 participated in a 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament. This was the second of two such showcase events this term and we were very pleased that is was again well supported and praised by parents.\u00a0 We\u2019d like to say a big thank you to Adina and all the staff at Graceway Sports Centre for the use of their amazing facilities, which have enabled the children to learn and improve so much this term!<\/p>\n

The Gymnastics event demonstrated our children\u2019s excellent skills, and the competition was very closely contested. Children were scored on their control and strength, as well at the quality of their movements and holds. Throughout the term, each child was challenged to learn new movements understand how to link different skills together effectively. All of the routines were devised entirely by the children, and the audience were highly impressed with the creativity of each group. After adding up all the results, the competition was decided by a single point! Well done everyone for such excellent work. We are very proud of your improvement and performances this term!<\/p>\n

The Basketball tournament was also a close affair, as the championship game required a period of overtime before a winner could be found! Again, the children did a great job of demonstrating their new skills of dribbling, passing, positioning and defense. Every child had been working hard to understand the rules and apply them in a game. It was impressive to see how well our children passed and moved within their teams, resulting in some extremely close matches.<\/p>\n

We\u2019d like to say a big thank you to Adina and all the staff at Graceway Sports Center for the use of their amazing facilities, which have enabled the children to learn and improve so much this term!<\/p>\n

It really has been a great term for PE at Provo Primary. I look forward to more great work through the summer!<\/p>\n
