This year\u2019s\u00a0theme song for Education Week, Quality Education for All (QEfA)\u00a0 is written by the Long Bay High School Team – a catchy tune with a great message! Education Week was established more than 29 years ago to call attention to the importance of education and to showcase the talents of TCI teachers and students.\u00a0During the week, schools throughout the country will host a myriad of activities and the general public is encouraged to join in unity with educators and students in support of the theme.<\/p>\n

Here at Provo Primary we will have a variety of activities going on throughout the week, culminating\u00a0 in our \u2018Open House\u2019 showcases and parent workshops – sharing our work developing our ‘Visual and Hands-On Is Minds-On’ approach to quality<\/strong> Mathematical teaching and learning across the school.\u00a0 <\/strong>Neuroscience research into the brain and learning is giving important insights into mathematics learning, inspiring Maths success for all students through growth mindsets, number sense,\u00a0 and innovative teaching involving practical and visual exploration of concepts.\u00a0 We are set for a busy week of Maths learning ahead and hope you can come along.<\/p>\n

Mr. Jason usually leads our participation in the FORTIS Science Fair and Quiz, but with the opening of our Middle School, and his extra curriculum duties as a result, we have decided to not enter this year.\u00a0 We do, however, plan to enter next year in both the Primary and High School events so do go along to see what it’s all about.\u00a0 As the winning Primary School at the last Science Fair (2017) we have the proud pleasure of opening the awards ceremony this year with the vote of thanks.<\/p>\n
