{"id":2144,"date":"2009-05-15T01:30:41","date_gmt":"2009-05-15T01:30:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/?p=2144"},"modified":"2011-05-29T19:08:55","modified_gmt":"2011-05-29T19:08:55","slug":"dancescapes-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/provolearning.com\/blog\/school-news\/dancescapes-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Dancescapes&#8217; Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2153\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"dancescape-14-05-09\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/dancescape-14-05-09.jpg?resize=460%2C246\" alt=\"dancescape-14-05-09\" width=\"460\" height=\"246\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Today during their PE lessons, the children throughout the school had the opportunity to take part in a modern dance workshop, led by choreographer Luis Kavouras and students from the University of Nevada Las Vegas&#8217; (UNLV) Department of Dance.<\/p>\n<p>After watching a few short performances that portrayed\u00a0 different styles of dance, the children were taught a sequence of movements from &#8216;Icarus&#8217;, a modern dance piece choreographed by Luis.\u00a0 The children thoroughly enjoyed this experience and it was truly amazing to see all ages, together, performing alongside\u00a0 the dancers.<\/p>\n<p>Click on to learn more and to see some short movie clips of the children performing the &#8216;Icarus&#8217; piece&#8230;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The dancers&#8217; visit to our islands has been sponsored by The Turks and Caicos Friends of the Arts Foundation.\u00a0 They will perform &#8216;Dancescapes Luminosity&#8217; on 15th-16th May at Brayton Hall.\u00a0 See the <a title=\"TCFAF\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tcfaf.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">TCFAF website<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\n<p>We would like to extend a big thank you to Luis and all the dancers and also to the TCFAF for visiting our school.
