We have been delving into the faiths and beliefs of Buddhists all around the world. We started looking at the story of the Buddha and how he came to realise there was more to life than the life of luxury behind his palace walls.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think Karma is?\u00a0 Watch our video to see what our Year 4s think.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Buddha believed and taught that there were Four Noble Truths, which are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dukkha &#8211; the truth of suffering,<\/li>\n<li>Samud\u0101ya &#8211; the Buddha says that all of our worries and problems are caused by desire.<\/li>\n<li>Nirodh &#8211; the third truth that the Buddha taught is that to get rid of desire, we have to detach ourselves from possessions.<\/li>\n<li>Magga &#8211; the final Noble Truth is the Buddha&#8217;s hope for the end of suffering.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The children have had many discussions about how these can relate to them living in the TCI and going to Provo Primary School. The children spoke about the material things they possess that they could do without.<\/p>\n<p>We also discussed how Karma can play a huge part in people\u2019s lives, whether it\u2019s good or bad. Our decisions can affect the way people feel and also act around us. The children really excelled in this and lots of examples of good manners and kind behaviour were shown.
