\"bonfire-night-nov-2015<\/a>Our annual Bonfire Night was a huge success with two fantastic Guy Fawkes on the bonfire, great food and an amazing surprise display of fireworks! We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Clive, Joan and their serving team at Bay Bistro<\/a> for hosting this marvellous, and much looked forward to, tradition especially for our Provo Primary families!<\/p>\n

Thank you to all of the parents and friends who passed on all of these lovely photos for us to share and remember the event.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As we waited for darkness to fall, the colours of the sunset were a beautiful backdrop to our evening. The crowd admired the Guys, mingled munched on sausages on sticks under the tent and the children enjoyed playing on the beach with friends.\u00a0 It was especially lovely to reconnect with some Provo Primary alumni, who fondly recalled when they had enjoyed the Year 4 honor of making the Guy.<\/p>\n

The ringing of the bell drew the crowd around the bonfire and the Year 4s recited the bonfire rhyme\u2026\u2019Remember, remember! The fifth of November; Gunpowder treason and plot; I know of no reason; Why the Gunpowder treason; Should ever be forgot.\u2019<\/em> The bonfire was then lit to the cheers of the crowd who watched the flames grow. Oohs and ahhhs were heard as the blaze began to engulf the Guys, firecrackers popped and the glow of the bonfire lit smiling faces with an orange glow.\u00a0 As the wind was calm, Clive then surprised us with a colourful firework display to end the evening’s celebrations and fun.<\/p>\n

And what a wonderful evening it was! Thank you, everyone for making it so.
