Developing our breathing techniques.<\/p><\/div>\n

This half term the children of Provo Primary have been taking part in a series of swimming lessons. The staff have been working hard to create a stream of lessons, which cater for all swimming experiences and abilities for children from Kindergarten right up to Year 6.\u00a0 There is an ocean of talent in the pool each week!<\/p>\n

Provo Primary\u2019s swimming policy enables children to focus on water confidence and moving through the water, to the later stages of finely tuning swimming strokes such as: front crawl, back stroke and breast stroke and developing breathing techniques.<\/p>\n

At the start, each year group was carefully assessed and grouped so that they could be taught based on their swimming ability and confidence. The progression so far has been immense and there is still two more weeks of swimming sessions to go!\u00a0 Please take a look at the photos and get a sneak peak of the activities the children have been doing.<\/p>\n

We have been extremely lucky to have Mr Joel this half term who has been helping our more hesitant children get used to the water in a safe and calm environment.\u00a0 A big thank you to Mr Joel.\u00a0 We all appreciate the hard work you have put in and it has been amazing to see the progress in the children in your group during this time.\u00a0 Thank you also to our parent volunteers who have also helped to make our programme a success.<\/p>\n

We would like to offer a further thank you\u00a0 to Surfside Ocean Academy<\/a> for their support of our programme.\u00a0 Many of our children have swimming lessons out of school and we encourage all parents to support the development of this life-saving skill for their child.<\/p>\n

Finally, a special mention to the residents of Flamingo Park for allowing us continued use of their wonderful facilities.\u00a0 All of this would not be possible without your support.<\/p>\n
