\"fabien-cousteau-march-2014-3\"<\/a>Fabien Cousteau, \u00a0world-renowned conservationist and environmentalist and the grandson of Jacques Cousteau, visited the Turks and Caicos Islands last week. \u00a0The\u00a0Turks and Caicos Reef Fund organised an Educational Outreach event for the TCI Student Community and our\u00a0Year 4, 5 and 6 students attended an inspiring presentation by Fabien\u00a0about the importance of protecting the marine environment.<\/p>\n

Fabien’s deep passion for marine life and\u00a0his fascinating adventures captivated the students. \u00a0He also told us about a special future project, Mission 31<\/a>, which we will enjoy following the progress of in May\/June. \u00a0The students had the opportunity to ask Fabien some questions, and ‘a sea of hands’ arose from the audience. \u00a0Fabien remarked that\u00a0he had never\u00a0done a school presentation where so many hands were raised, and where the questions\u00a0asked were so intelligent and well thought out.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Fabien has dedicated his life to furthering the understanding and preservation of the global marine environment and educating the public as to the vital importance of our oceans for the overall health of the planet. \u00a0He \u00a0expressed much hope in young people looking after our oceans and left us with a quote from his grandfather…<\/p>\n
