We created a jungle of our own in our classroom.<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed listening to stories and rhymes about jungle animals. We especially liked &#8216;Rumble in the Jungle&#8217; by Giles Andreae &amp; David Wojtowycz, and &#8216;The Animal Boogie&#8217; by Debbie Harter.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1405\" title=\"jungle-1\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jungle-1.jpg?resize=460%2C345\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"345\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jungle-1.jpg\"><!--more--><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We made curly card lions. We carefully cut out the lion and curled its mane around a pencil.<\/p>\n<p>Can you see any hiding in our jungle?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jungle-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1406\" title=\"jungle-2\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jungle-2.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We made moving monkeys, using split pins for joints. Come and see them hanging in our jungle!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jungle-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1407\" title=\"jungle-3\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jungle-3.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We made colourful parrots using real feathers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/parrot11.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1414\" title=\"parrot11\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/parrot11.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We painted paper plates and cut them in a spiral to make hanging snakes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/snake.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1415\" title=\"snake\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/snake.jpg?resize=225%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We tried a very tricky jungle puzzle!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jpuzzle.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1416\" title=\"jpuzzle\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jpuzzle.jpg?resize=225%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We looked at different pictures from Africa, and talked about the different animals.<\/p>\n<p>Which is your favourite?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jboard.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1417\" title=\"jboard\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jboard.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We were very lucky to have Karina Whitehead come in and talk to us about her experiences living in Africa as a little girl. We really enjoyed this topic and had lots of fun!\u00c2\u00a0 Charlotte Darcy bought in lots of photos from her trip to Africa.\u00c2\u00a0 She shared them with Grade 2 and they passed them on to us when they heard that we were learning about jungle animals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This term, one of our topics is Jungle Animals.
