We have enjoyed reading and listening to lots of different stories, poems and songs about dinosaurs. We have been involved in many activities involving dinosaurs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jk11.jpg\" alt=\"jk11.jpg\" border=\"1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We found out some of the names of dinosaurs, and talked about how big they were.<\/p>\n<p>Tyrannosaurus Rex Measure<\/p>\n<p>With the help of two children from Grade 2 we measured how big a Tyrannosaurus Rex was.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jk3.jpg\" alt=\"jk3.jpg\" border=\"1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We measured out 12 meters in front of the office. We all helped to count to 12 as we measured using meter sticks, then we all held the string to see how long a Tyrannosaurus was.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jk4.jpg\" alt=\"jk4.jpg\" border=\"1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We all enjoyed painting a large dinosaur on the wall in the playground using sponge rollers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/blog7.jpg\" alt=\"blog7.jpg\" border=\"1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We sorted dinosaurs into sets of colour and type. We practiced counting them and made repeating patterns with them.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/sorting.jpg\" alt=\"sorting.jpg\" border=\"1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We had fun printing using dinosaur stamps.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/printing.jpg\" alt=\"printing.jpg\" border=\"1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dinosaur Foot<\/p>\n<p>We cut out a large dinosaur footprint, and predicted how many of our footprints would fit inside the dinosaur&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>We traced our feet onto the dinosaur foot until it was covered in footprints.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/drawing-footprints.jpg\" alt=\"drawing-footprints.jpg\" border=\"1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We counted how many of our footprints fitted inside the dinosaur footprint. We could fit 33 of our footprints inside it.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/dinosaur-footprint.jpg\" alt=\"dinosaur-footprint.jpg\" border=\"1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Leaf Rubbings<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/leaves.jpg\" alt=\"leaves.jpg\" border=\"1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We talked about dinosaurs that are meat eaters and dinosaurs that are leaf eaters.<\/p>\n<p>We went on a walk around the school grounds to find some leaves to make leaf prints.<\/p>\n<p>We put the leaves under some paper and rubbed over the top using wax crayons.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/leaf-rubbing.jpg\" alt=\"leaf-rubbing.jpg\" border=\"1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Fossil footprints<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/footprints2.jpg\" alt=\"footprints2.jpg\" border=\"1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We each took it in turns to make foot prints by pressing our feet into wet sand.<\/p>\n<p>We looked at the different patterns our shoes made.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see we have all had a very busy week!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.provoprimaryblog.com\/wp-content\/blogpix\/jk2.jpg\" alt=\"jk2.jpg\" border=\"1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Junior Kindergarten our topic this week was dinosaurs.
