You may have seen this poster on our noticeboard at school.\u00a0 The event is this weekend, so let us remind you of what it\u2019s all about.<\/p>\n

Tamika Handfield, a parent at the school, is excited to hold her 2nd<\/sup> annual ACCU Nutrition Move-a-thon on<\/strong> January 12th<\/sup>, 2013 beginning at 5:30am<\/b>.\u00a0 Her first move-a-thon, last year was a huge success with well over 200 persons in attendance, with quite a few Provo Primary families participating.\u00a0 Tamika\u2019s goal for this year\u2019s event is that it will be bigger and better.<\/p>\n

Provo Primary is happy to promote this event and hopes that your family is able to participate.\u00a0 It\u2019s an early start, but we hope you’ll think it’s worth the effort!\u00a0 So feel welcome to join in, wearing our school\u2019s colours and taking our school spirit.\u00a0 Read on to find out more details and download your registration-form<\/a> here or pick one up at school.<\/p>\n

Choose to join in, walking, running or biking a 5K route from the Children\u2019s Park in the Bight up to The Regent Palms and back.\u00a0 There is also a 10K and \u00bd Marathon challenge too (See the poster at school or contact Tamika for details).<\/p>\n

Registration Fees: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $15 for a family \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $10 for individual children\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $20 per adult \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

Registration forms are available in the office and here online.<\/p>\n

T-shirts will be given to participants on a first come, first serve basis so set those alarm clocks and don\u2019t be late!<\/p>\n

A part of the proceeds raised will be donated to a selected school to enhance the nutritional well-being of the students through the commencement of nutrition education\/cooking classes.\u00a0The school with the most participants (students, teachers and parents) present at the move-a-thon will be selected as the winning school.<\/b>\u00a0 Last year\u2019s winning school was Enid Capron and the students have been having a blast and learning lots about healthy choices and lifestyles in their Nutrition Education\/cooking classes! \u00a0 The remainder of the funds will be given to Nutrition in Demand\u2014a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and increasing sensitivity to the importance of health and healthy eating in the community.<\/p>\n
