{"id":10531,"date":"2012-12-14T12:31:53","date_gmt":"2012-12-14T12:31:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/provolearning.com\/blog\/?p=10531"},"modified":"2015-09-25T15:04:54","modified_gmt":"2015-09-25T19:04:54","slug":"2012-christmas-shows-a-smash-hit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/provolearning.com\/blog\/school-news\/2012-christmas-shows-a-smash-hit\/","title":{"rendered":"Our 2012 Christmas Shows are a Smash Hit!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/55591137\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"200\" height=\"175\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Provo Primary School is renowned in the community for putting on amazing Christmas productions and this year\u2019s shows once again lived up to our great reputation.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday and Saturday night, stories as old as time and as wise as ever were brought together in a magical musical production that enchanted ,educated and entertained our community as they watched the children perform Aesop\u2019s Funtastic Fables.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday night Provo Primary Early Years department put on their Christmas Extravaganza.<\/p>\n<p>Please enjoy our wonderful slideshow of the two shows and relive the spectacular evenings over and over again!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Early Year&#8217;s Christmas Extravaganza started with our Toddler class singing Twinkle Twinkle Little star, using their knowledge of sign language to entertain the audience with their cuteness.\u00a0 The Pre-schoolers then sang \u00a0\u201cChristmas All Around\u201d and danced to \u201cRockin\u2019 Robin\u201d. \u00a0 Next, the Jnr Kindergarteners\u00a0 performed a rendition of &#8220;Jingle Bells&#8221; on the hand bells.\u00a0 Finally, the Kindergarteners acted out their unique version of The Gingerbread Boy, accompanied by the JK choir.<\/p>\n<p>In Year 1 &#8211; 6&#8217;s Aesop&#8217;s Funtastic Fables, a children\u2019s picnic in the woods turns into an incredible lesson in life retelling some of Aesop\u2019s famous fables when a mysterious, magical storyteller appears.\u00a0 Learning from nature, they listen to the secret of the ants, take tea with the bees, share honey with a dancing bear and howl with a lonely wolf.<\/p>\n<p>The children then meet the sly old fox and there is even a mouse that&#8217;s best friends with a lion. They do battle with the Sun and Wind, watch a tortoise race a hare and meet a wise old owl who just can&#8217;t stop giving good advice.<\/p>\n<p>Through a collection of catchy songs and wonderful characters, the children learn that in spite of all their differences, there is a spirit of love and caring that makes us all the same.<\/p>\n<p>Of course a Provo Primary production wouldn\u2019t be complete without a bit of humor thrown in. Lighter moments included some baaaaah baric jokes from the sheep scene and ANT eek jokes from the Ant scene. It included a Benny Hill chase and there was even a Beetle called John Lennon who was a great hit with the crowd singing songs like, \u201cAll You Need Is Love\u201d, \u201cThe Hippie Hippie Shake\u201d and \u201cIt\u2019s Been A Hard Day\u2019s Night\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Well done to all the children and staff of Provo Primary &#8211; two amazing shows that thoroughly entertained their audiences and were a joy to perform!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Provo Primary School is renowned in the community for putting on amazing Christmas productions and this year\u2019s shows once again lived up to our great reputation.
