We strongly believe in the importance of building closely bonded relationships between children and teachers, and we consider ourselves very fortunate that our small staff and low teacher\/pupil ratios allow us to do this. We find that our children happily adapt to different adults and situations from an early age.<\/p>\n

A broad background\u00a0within education allows\u00a0our staff to apply their unique perspectives and expertise to support all children across the school.\u00a0 Just as our children have different strengths, so do our teachers. Teachers are assigned to various subjects according to their individual strengths, interests and specialisms. The children are taught most subjects by their homeroom teacher, but also receive specialist teaching for other subjects such as Music, P.E. and Spanish. Coordinators oversee curriculum planning and ensure that continuity, progression and standards are in accordance with our Curriculum.<\/p>\n

Alison holds a teaching Certificate in Primary Education from Derby University, England.\u00a0 Her major subjects were in Music, Psychology and Primary Education. She also did an Open University Degree course in Ethnic Minorities and Community Relations and has a TEFL qualification from Warwick University.<\/p>\n

Alison has 36 years teaching experience in England, Greece and The Turks and Caicos Islands.<\/p>\n

This is Alison’s 26th year at Provo Primary.<\/p>\n

Jason holds a Bachelor of Education Degree (BEd. Hons.)\u00a0 He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Inclusion and Special Educational Needs and an Advanced Certificate in Teaching.\u00a0 All qualifications are from The Queen\u2019s University of Belfast. He is also an Associate Examiner for Cambridge International Examinations.<\/p>\n

Jason has 9 years teaching experience, with 5 years in Northern Ireland where he taught Year 6,\u00a0 preparing children for SATS and other secondary school entrance exams.<\/p>\n

Cara holds a Triple Languages Masters of Arts (MA) in French-Italian-Spanish from University of St Andrews, UK.\u00a0 In her 3rd year she went abroad as a SOCRATES student and took her exams in Avignon, France and Verona, Italy.\u00a0 She also holds a\u00a0 Primary Post Graduate Certification of Education P.G.C.E with a specialism in French.<\/p>\n

Cara has 12 years teaching experience with 4 years teaching experience in the UK, where she was the Modern Foreign Languages (M.F.L.) and International Links Co-ordinator.<\/p>\n

This is Cara’s 8th year teaching at Provo Primary.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Indira holds a Bachelor of Education degree (B.Ed Hons), which she gained at the University of North London, specialising in Health and Recreation.<\/p>\n

She has 20 years teaching experience, working in schools in London.\u00a0 During her career she has had the opportunity to co-ordinate the teaching of RE and Literacy and also held responsibility for the school library.<\/p>\n

Her most recent teaching post was at Channing School for girls, a private school, where she taught for 12 years.<\/p>\n

This is Indira’s 1st year at Provo Primary – an opportunity that she is very much excited by.<\/p>\n

Mani holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) degree from the University of East London in Visual Art Theory and Education. She also holds a \u00a0Post Graduate Certificate of Education (P.G.C.E.) in Primary Education, from the Metropolitan University in Manchester, U.K.
\nMani taught English to speakers of other languages for 2 years while in Manchester using her T.E.S.O.L qualification. She also has a Yoga’s Up Certificate which qualifies her to teach Yoga to children from ages 6 to 12 years of age.
\nMani has lived, travelled and worked in Europe, South East Asia, Australia, the Pacific and the U.K.
\nMani has 22 years teaching experience with 12 years in primary education in the UK.<\/p>\n

This is Mani\u2019s 10th year teaching at Provo Primary.<\/p>\n

He also has a Masters of Letters (M.Litt.) in Modern American History from the University of Newcastle, which included a research placement at Emory University, Atlanta, GA.\u00a0 Toby then studied Primary Education and has a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (P.G.C.E.) from the University of East Anglia, UK.<\/p>\n

Toby has 12 years teaching experience, with 6 years teaching experience in the UK, including 1 year as a Primary School Headteacher.<\/p>\n

Amanda holds a B.A. in Physical Education and Biology from Chester College of Higher Education and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (P.G.C.E.) in Primary Education with Early Years Specialism (3-8 yr olds).<\/p>\n

Amanda has 29 years teaching experience in Primary Education both in the U.K. and in International Schools in Sechelles, Malaysia, Singapore and T.C.I.<\/p>\n

Amanda is returning to Provo Primary and this will be her 5th year (collectively) at the school.<\/p>\n

Whilst studying for her P.G.C.E., Claire spent a year working part-time as a communication support worker for primary aged Deaf children with special needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Claire has 9 years teaching experience, with 6 years teaching at Provo Primary. This year she has returned to work part-time as a support teacher after a five year break to start her family. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Arlene has a Certificate in Education and Training in Nursery Nursing and has 15 years experience in Nursery School, Primary School and Children and Family Centre\u2019s (Social Work). Arlene has worked as a Nursery Nurse and a Teaching Assistant in the UK and Bahrain.<\/p>\n

Arlene is also a UK Qualified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, with 4 years running her own successful Fitness\/Personal Training business, with a particular interest and focus on children\u2019s fitness classes and instruction.<\/p>\n

Arlene is new to TCI and joined the Provo Primary team in September 2017.<\/p>\n

Early Years Team Assistant<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Shara holds a Minor in Dance from UNC-Greensboro, USA.\u00a0 She is currently attaining her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Humanities here too.\u00a0 She is also a Certified Baby Signing Time Instructor (ASL Based).\u00a0 Shara is also a trained YMCA Professional (Swimming, Dance & Gymnastics) and she coaches at the local gymnastics club. Shara has over twenty years in dance experience and twelve years in dance education.\u00a0 Over the years, she has brought this strength to our PE and Theatre Arts programmes and she has also developed a gross motor skill development programme (based on the UK PE Curriculum).<\/div>\n

Claire Marie holds an International Diploma In Montessori Pedagogy for Early Years Education from the Montessori Center International in London.\u00a0 She also holds certificates in: Yoga for Children from Montessori Center International; Understanding the Autistic Spectrum Disorder from Montessori Institute AMI and Child Protection, Creative Mark Making and Observation Assessment and Planning from the Camden Training and Media Service.<\/p>\n

Claire Marie has 14 years teaching experience, which includes 5 years experience in London and 1 year in Australia. This is Claire Marie’s 7th year teaching at Provo Primary.<\/p>\n

Laranda has 16 years of teaching experience. She has taught from infant to Year 4. She has 4 years teaching experience in Middle Caicos and 12 on Providenciales, in both the Private and Government schools.<\/p>\n

Laranda taught at Provo Primary back in 2003 and it\u2019s great to have her back at Provo Primary this year.<\/p>\n

Emma has first class honours in Leisure and Business Management (Bsc Hons.) and also has a Fetac certificate in Early childhood education and community. Emma has enjoyed many years working with DIT colleges and schools in Sport and is extremely passionate about this area. Emma is a qualified personal trainer (NCHES), neuromuscular therapist(NCHES), strength and conditioning coach (KG Elite), Les Mills Grit and Bodypump instructor, kettlebells instructor, spin instructor and has coaching certificates across many different areas of sport such as; Swimming, Soccer, Gaelic football, basketball, athletics, boxercise and Child protection in sport.<\/p>\n

This is Emma\u2019s 1st year at Provo Primary and she is delighted to join the team.<\/p>\n

Yorka holds a Bachelor degree in Primary Years Education from the Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile. \u00a0She has being working for the last 3 years as an Elementary Teacher in an International Baccalaureate School in Chile.<\/p>\n

Her first language is Spanish and she will be encouraging our children to learn Spanish as a second language both naturally\u00a0through our Immersion Programme and through dedicated Spanish lessons.<\/p>\n

Niki holds a BA (HONS) in Dance from London Contemporary Dance School, is a qualified Professional Studio Instructor with YMCAFit (UK), holds a Professional Associate Diploma in Acting and Musical Theatre from Arts Educational School, London and is\u00a0a Master Scuba Trainer with PADI.<\/p>\n

Niki has over 15 years experience teaching performing arts, fitness and SCUBA to both children and adults in England, The Philippines, Tanzania and The Turks & Caicos Islands. Niki runs an extensive After School Performing Arts Programme for children, teenagers and adults on campus.<\/p>\n

This is her 3rd year at Provo Primary School.<\/p>\n

Visiting Volunteer Teacher<\/p>\n

Bonnie has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from The University of Wisconsin, USA and a Masters Degree in Special Education from Western Oregon State College.<\/p>\n

She has 43 years experience teaching primary and special education students, including 11 years at Provo Primary School.\u00a0 Miss Bonnie also started the first diagnostic teaching centre for the city of Victoria, British Columbia.<\/p>\n

When Ms Bonnie visits us, which she tries to each year, she helps us in all sorts of ways but mostly in the role of a support teacher.<\/p>\n
