Year 6 Bullying Photo Stories

yr-6-bullying-feb-2014Year Six recently created photo stories based upon the theme of bullying.  Students worked in small groups and storyboarded short sketches that highlighted a typical bullying scenario.  The students came up with sound ideas that focused on potential bullying during unstructured times at school, within their local community and through modern technology (cyber bullying).

Once the storyboarding process had been completed the students then used the camera facility on our tablets to capture images that would bring their stories to life.  This was a terrific whole class effort as students had to adopt different roles for different purposes so that each group could present their bullying story in a meaningful way.

Once the students were happy with their captured shots they printed them out and got busy organising them into sequential order. They then had to insert captions, include speech bubbles and so on so that the final story could be understood by an audience. Importantly, Year Six bullying stories contained important messages regarding how to manage and overcome such difficult situations that can affect many children and young people around the world.
