Year 5 have been using their observational skill to look closely at the different elements of still life paintings from the contemporary artists Jereme, Vicini Genevivien, Hundertwasser and the impressionist, Matisse.

The children looked at form, composition, family colours, contrasts, textures, shapes and different viewpoints.Using their observational skills they then set up their own still life using objects from around the school. Having photographed and sketched their compositions, they then zoomed in to produce a more interesting viewpoint of their still life. Paint and oil pastels were used as the medium to produce their final pictures.
