Our overnight trip to North and Middle Caicos was a roaring success! We started our day by taking the ferry over from Provo. After landing in Sandy Point, we took our massive school bus over to Mudjin Harbor in Middle Caicos. On the way we stopped at the Causeway to take in the impact of hurricanes and how hard it has been to repair this. Swimming, lunch and walks in caves and trails followed at Mudjin. Then we made our way to the Conch Bar caves.
Some of us were very brave as it was very dark in there, even with lots of flashlights! We had a lot of fun dodging the bats and clambering over rocks though. We made our way back in time for a delicious dinner from Miss Suzie followed by hide and seek.
After a fairly good night sleep for most, we had an early beach walk, a hearty breakfast, an excellent clean-up and then it was time to explore Wade’s Green Plantation, for an amazing visit to the Government farm, lunch and beach time before our ferry back.
Year 5 were superb ambassadors for their school and also so easy-going and happy it was a delight to go!
