World Teachers’ Day, A Message From Our Ministry Of Education

teacherOn 5th October 1994, the first World Teachers’ Day was observed. Today, fifteen years later, the world continues to commemorate the day, highlighting the very important role that teachers play in their respective countries, and elsewhere.  Here is a message from our Permanent Secretary, Dr. Beatrice L. Fulford…

We at the Ministry and Department of Education, Turks and Caicos Islands, embrace this opportunity to pay tribute to you, our many teachers, past and present, who have worked tirelessly, often under trying circumstances, to fashion the lives of thousands of young people.

We unreservedly applaud you for shaping our society, grooming leaders, restoring hope to the discouraged, embracing the alienated – generally preparing men and women for service to humanity. Your contribution to education has been unquestionably phenomenal.

We celebrate you today; we celebrate your achievements and that of your students; we wish you well as you continue to tangibly demonstrate your wisdom, commitment and dedication to this most notable profession – teaching.

Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Dr. Beatrice L. Fulford
Permanent Secretary
Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture
