World Premier of The Lorax @ the Flamingo Royale!

The Year 4 class nervously gathered outside the door of their Flamingo Classroom last week, peering in at a large crowd of children and parents. They had all gathered to watch the first ever performance of Dr Seuss’ The Lorax at Provo Primary School!  And what a performance it would be!  Only 3 weeks ago, the Year 4 pupils were challenged to learn and perform an entire musical, build a stage and find costumes.  No wonder they were so excited to see the huge audience that had gathered in their classroom to watch the World Premier of this wonderful story!  Intrigued and want to see a glimpse of the show?  Then click on ‘read more…’ see some amazing photos.

As part of the project, pupils were responsible for directing each scene, including deciding how to deliver their lines with expression.  They also worked hard to build the stage and design the props that were used throughout the performance.  The entire class worked together brilliantly throughout the project and were excited to show off their hard work when it came to show time!

As soon as the performance began, the children’s pride and excitement was obvious for everyone to see!  Every song was sung through huge smiles and each scene was acted with style and expression!  As the applause rang out, it was clear that The Lorax was a big hit!

Well done Flamingo Class!

Keep an eye out for the video of The Lorax…coming soon to a blog near you!
