It’s a ‘grand slam’ for Provo Primary School in the ‘Wildlife Digital Photo Contest’, with winners in first, second and third place. Congratulations, what a wonderful achievement for our young photographers! Announcing the winners in a special assembly was gripping and exciting for all the children. Unfortunately, our first prize winner was absent so you’ll have to wait until next week to see a photo of our prize winners standing proudly with their photos. Well done to all the children who took part. I enjoyed hearing all about their photographic adventures. It was clear that the project had encouraged them and their families to venture out, some as far away to North West Point, to look more closely at nature. It certainly brought awareness to all of us here at Provo Primary of the rich diversity of the wildlife around us and hopefully will inspire us all to continue to observe, appreciate and protect our beautiful nature. What a wonderful way to celebrate the inaugural ‘World Wildlife Day’!
We would like to thank TCI Department of Environment and Maritime Affairs (DEMA) and the Department of Agriculture for organising the photo competition.
Official certificates and prize awards will be presented during World Osprey Week at the end of March. What will our young 9 and 10 year old prize winners spend their $100, $50 and $25 dollars on I wonder?
