We have a HUNCH that this is going to be a bright BUNCH…..

In Junior Kindergarten we have spent most of the first three weeks of term getting acquainted with our peers and exploring our classroom.  We love all the centres, in particularly the block and home corners.   We have been encouraged to play in large groups to continue building our social skills, sharing skills, and using appropriate manners etc. where necessary.  We have been working hard on quickly learning and remembering the class rules and routines in such a short time.  Click on read more below and take a look at some of the hands-on activities we have enjoyed, making our learning more fun.

I LOOK IN THE MIRROR, WHO DO I SEE?

A BEAUTIFUL GIRL /HANDSOME BOY

LOOKING BACK AT ME! (Morning jingle)

We enjoyed looking at ourselves in the mirror as we studied our eyes and hair color.  We also focused on the numbers one and two during these activities, counting how many eyes we have, how many noses, how many ears etc. We even learnt how to say the parts of our face in Spanish!  We made a mirror in our craft activity session to show the number and position of our eyes, nose, and mouth.  We also talked about where we can find our mouth, nose, eyes and ears on ourselves.

In the second week we learned more about our bodies: how to take care of our personal needs, and how to get dressed.  We learned that we use our eyes to see, our brain to think and we even felt our hearts beating and pumping blood around our bodies!  Amazing!
