Summer Camp Boat Trip

Caicos-Dream-Tours-Boat-Trip-2013-4

The first two weeks of Provo Primary Summer Camp ended with an amazing boat trip with Caicos Dream Tours. Our group of 12 children plus adult helpers, gathered together at The Alexandra Hotel on Grace Bay Beach ready to board the boat.

First of all we went out to the coral reef and went snorkeling. We saw an octopus, a barracuda and lots of different kinds of fish. Our next stop was the south side of the island to dive for conch. We saw lots of baby conch but left these in the water to grow into adults and took only a few adult conch; just enough for lunch. Once we’d finished our diving expedition, off we went to Water Cay, where we took the conch out of the shells and prepared a tasty conch salad. Most of us enjoyed our healthy meal, although there were a few who preferred to eat their own packed snack. While we were on the island we saw a Manta Ray, a nurse shark and lots of very friendly iguanas. On our way back home we stopped for one last adventure at Leeward Point to look for shells and to have a last minute dip in the ocean. All in all, we had a fantastic time and managed to cram in an awful lot into our morning. We all thought it was great fun and agreed that it was an exciting way to end the week.
