Reaping Rewards at Interschool Rugby Tournament!

rugby-tournament-Dec-2013Provo Primary had a truly outstanding day at the Inter-school Primary Tag competition on Saturday the 30th of November. With 19 children in attendance, we were able to field three teams, two in the 7-9 category and one team in the 10-12 category. The children all played magnificently and really put in all their effort whether it was scoring a try, grabbing those tags or passing beautifully to each other.

There was some tough competition and, with some amazing runners from Enid Capron and Ashcroft, the older team were just pipped to the post. However, with only one sub and an awful lot of games to play in the blistering heat, they played superbly and what was most impressive was their team spirit and togetherness. This would not have been possible without the fantastic help of Mr Ted Weldon who was an amazing coach, thank you so much Mr Ted!

The two younger teams also played brilliantly and managed to win not one game, not two games, not three games but every single game they played! This meant they had a really fun final playing each other! We brought back a lovely, shiny gold cup too. It was exceptionally nice to then also have one of our children be presented with Player of the day in the 7-9 category out of all of the schools. She really deserved it with some truly awe-inspiring runs and a phenomenal amount of continual effort!

The parents on the sidelines were absolutely great too and really helped support and encourage the children in a long but fun set of games. Thank you to all those who came and supported and a final huge thank you to Mr Niall at the TCIRFU for organising such a great morning of sports and even hosting a delicious free barbecue afterwards!
