MindUp Fun in Year 3!

During MindUp this term one of the things we have been talking about in Year 3 is the word ‘Gratitude’. We had lots of fun making our Gratitude Post Box, plus thinking, talking, discussing and role playing what the word actually meant! After much deliberation, we came to the conclusion that to us it meant being ‘truly truly thankful’ for all good things, however big or small that passes our way.

Our Gratitude Post Box reminds us to acknowledge the many wonderful people and things we have in our lives, by writing it down and then sharing it together a few weeks later – it is fun to be reminded!

Check out the photos showing Mrs Betty working with us on appreciating what our hands, feet and eyes do for us. Mrs Betty reminded us of how very fortunate we are to have all our limbs and our sight doing the jobs they do.

Even more ‘gratitude’ was experienced in Year 3 during ‘Angel Week’. Each of us randomly chose a classmate’s name out of a hat and had to think of a ‘thoughtful’ gift for that person. It was wonderful to be opening such special gifts. Appreciation was certainly felt. What a mindful, thoughtful and ‘grateful’  Year 3 class I have .
