Latest Provo Primary Success

yr-6-may-2016We would like to congratulate all 9 of our Year 6 students on their successful post-primary entrance exam results.   All of the children have passed every exam taken and have been accepted into the schools of their choice – either the British West Indies Collegiate, the TCI Middle School or at other international schools.

Six of our Year 6 students took local school Year 7 entrance exams:

In total, 37 children from the Turks and Caicos sat the Year 7 British West Indies Collegiate exams for 9 available places.  We are extremely pleased that all 5 of our students who sat the exam were offered a place.

All 6 students were offered a place at TCI Middle School out of only 12 available places.

The remaining three of our Year 6 students are leaving the island to go to international schools elsewhere.  We congratulate them on their success with the enrolment process for these schools.

We are very proud of each of our students and their personal achievements.  We know that they have worked extremely hard towards this goal and their efforts have clearly been rewarded.

Thank you and well done to Mr. Jason, our outstanding Year 6 teacher, Miss Cara and to all of the teachers who have guided the children through their learning journey thus far.  We also thank all their families who have supported them throughout their primary years. Congratulations on a team effort of dedication, hard work, preparation, support and a belief in what you can achieve when you do your personal best!

Here at Provo Primary we believe that our creative, hands on approach to learning, not only makes learning more meaningful, but also helps children to attain higher academic success.  Our successful entrance exam results year after year prove this to be the case.

Exam results are a useful benchmark to ensure that children are at the level necessary to tackle post primary education, but we always stress that they do not assess all of what makes a child special and unique. There are a variety of intelligences and all of our Year 6 children are intelligent in unique ways. Some speak two languages, some play sports or love art. Others have a natural talent for music or drama, while others are dependable friends. There is no “exam” in the world that allows them to show all of the amazing and incredible things that make them who they are.  We are all very proud of who you are and look forward to seeing who you will become in the future!
