‘Keeping Healthy Week’, Oct 2013

keeping-healthy-oct-2013This week is ‘Keeping Healthy Week’. Following the theme of the Education Department’s ‘Healthy and Family Life’ month, we will focus on “Cultivating Healthy Families; Producing Healthy Lifestyles”.  Over the week we have organised a few activities, daily challenges and events to help raise awareness of the importance of developing healthy life choices. Below are some of the activities that we have planned.  As the week goes on, also look out for further blog posts highlighting these activities.

Wed 23rd Oct – ‘Let’s get Physical’

A short morning ‘wake up-shake up’ aerobic workout to get our hearts pumping @ 8:30 AM with fitness trainer Jo Gray. Adults welcome to join in!

Wed 23rd Oct – Early Years Races on the Green Field

Throughout the day our Toddler, Preschool, Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes will be learning about how exercise affects our bodies as they take turns to race up and down our green grass field.

Thurs 24th Oct – ‘Walk to School’

Join us @ 8:00 AM as we walk down the hill from IGA to school.  Miss Sian will be at the starting point and teachers will be stationed at each road crossing along route.  Parents should accompany and supervise their children on the walk.

Postponed  to Fri 1st Nov – ‘Year 3 – 6 Soccer Festival’

Come along to the TCIFA soccer Field between 9:00 and 10:45 AM to see the children live in action as they demonstrate their field and beach soccer skills through a number of training games and activities.

Also look out on your child’s classroom noticeboard for individual class activities going on throughout the week.
