We have been back at school only a few weeks now, and already Year 3 have been invited along to other classes to share and discover some of the exciting activities that have been going on in their classrooms. Year 4 invited us to come and encounter their “Explorers and their Discoveries” projects they had researched into. Year 1 invited us to come and experience some of their ‘MindUp’ learning. We ourselves have been quite busy too. Read on to find out more…
Year 4’s Explorer projects and presentations were inspiring. It was amazing to hear and see all the amazing discoveries made by incredible people from all around the world.
Year 1 did a fantastic job in sharing some of their new found ‘MindUp’ knowledge and skills with us. We learned how important it was to stretch our bodies as well as our minds in the classroom; we learned about the different parts of the brain and how it helps us to make decisions; we learned ways of breathing to help us stay calm and even learned a song about how wonderful our brain is! Plus many more things. Thank you to both classes for sharing and inviting us.
And these are just a few of the learning experiences that we have been exploring so far this term: Planting new seeds in the garden; making and painting decorative tiles and pots; learning how to read scales using g and kg and writing news reports.
However, one of our most exciting activities has been to put on our archaeologist hats and to carefully dig for Ancient Egyptian artefacts… oh the excitement of uncovering evidence that will inform us about life in the past. It has been such fun.
