Our Year 4 bone experts have been busy learning how to write explanation texts this term. We discovered lots of great facts during our Moving and Growing topic and we wanted to help you understand the special jobs each bone does.
We worked together to develop our understanding of subordinating clauses, allowing us to form really long sentences that could hold a lot of information. We learned that we could use phrases like because, in order to, allowing, enabling and creating to join a statement with a reason. After completing our writing, we took our work to the ICT suite to produce a double-page explanation text.
We carefully edited and redrafted our work to correct errors in spelling and punctuation. We also learned how to make decisions about the layout of our work to make it easier and more enjoyable for our readers.
After a lot of effort, teamwork and patience we were very proud of our work!
