Creativity feeds creativity!

Year 1Pirate ships, rockets, teepees, mud pies and more…

Traditionally, each year the children contribute to our annual PTA fundraiser by creating pieces of artwork to be auctioned. This year they are especially excited to be involved as proceeds from this Saturday’s event at Mango Reef will go towards enhancing our school playground.

In collaboration with the PTA, we hope to build a magical playground brimming with opportunities for more imaginative and creative play.

To help make our dreams a reality, we would like to tap into our diverse community expertise and businesses as much as possible. PTA/School funds will be utilized to pay for these local supplies and services.

Provo Primary parents, please check your email inbox and take a few minutes to browse our ideas and see our vision of how the existing playground can be developed. Let us know how you can help!

We plan to display all of the artwork on the stage tomorrow at 12noon and 3:00pm.  Auction sheets will be posted on a table so that the bidding can begin.  It will then continue at Mango Reef.

The Toddlers have been learning about colours and love getting messy with their hands!

“A Brick Flamingo”

The Preschool class love flamingos. Many children have brought some toy ones in for sharing and like to play with the ones in Ms. Sian’s office. The flamingo is also the symbol for Provo Primary. The title for this art piece was decided by a Preschool student who said, “We are making a brick flamingo!” while placing the little squares in a mosaic pattern.

“Home Sweet Home”

This year JK have studied Planet Earth and the Turks and Caicos. The children often travel by plane and get to see our beautiful island from above. To reflect this view point, plus their love and knowledge of Providenciales, we decided to create a map of the island using the wealth of beautiful photographs of Providenciales found in magazines. We have created a lasting memory on canvas!

“The Ocean Blue”

Inspired by their topic, ‘Under the Sea’, this drip-paint effect creates the turquoise blue waters of the TCI, home to a school of colourful fish.

“Bella the Turks & Caicos Mermaid”mermaid-june-2016

The children had designed books for their topic about Turks and Caicos. This particular drawing by one of the children was eye catching and much time and effort was put into the design.  It became the inspiration for our art piece.

yr-2-pta-art-auction-june-2016 (8)Year 2

“Spec-tacular Ospreys”

This Year 2 Osprey class has quite a variety of ‘sightly’ characters, each donning their own unique pair of sunglasses.

yr-3-pta-art-auction-june-2016 (4)Year 3

“Salty Sea Creations”

This piece was inspired by creatures from our beautiful, beautiful sea.

yr-4-pta-art-auction-june-2016 (5)Year 4

“Golden Sand Dollar”

The beautiful colours of the ocean surround us and we are fortunate to find a variety of shells in our waters.

yr-5-pta-art-auction-june-2016 (7)Year 5

“Tenacious and Tremendous Turtle”

Each turtle shell scute was inspired by Britto design and the Year 5’s colourful imaginations. Each scute is unique just like the children. The way the colours contrast represents the friendship and unity in the Turtle class.

yr-6-pta-art-auction-june-2016 (2)Year 6

“Future Aspirations”

Year 6 are proud to present their art piece which was inspired by the notions of ‘moving on’ and ‘future aspirations.’  As our current year 6 class are preparing to transition to post-primary schools here on island, and elsewhere in the world, we believe this poignant art represents celebration of a primary career and a glimpse into what the future can hold.  Indeed, education has the power to ensure dreams become a reality.

We would like to pass on a special thank you to all of the children and teachers, throughout the school, who worked together to create these amazing works of art!  They are each truly unique in design and technique and worthy of brightening up any wall in your home or work place.

Creativity feeding creativity at Provo Primary – let the bidding begin… !
