Congratulations to our new Year 3 – 6 School Councillors for being chosen to represent your classes and your school. This time round we have 3 students from each class to share the responsibilities over the year. Thank you to everyone who put themselves forward for election. Once again, all the teachers commented on how well you represented yourselves, it takes courage as well as enthusiasm to present yourselves to the whole class – keeping that amygdala in check. Well done to all of you!
We have already been busy talking about adjusting the playtime schedule as well as revisiting and reminding us all about continuing to use metal and reusable cutlery and NO to STRAWS! Are we ready to reduce all single-use plastic?!
The first early ‘Dress Down Day’ was a success. You all donated a total of $335 – an outstanding amount of money that will all be donated to assist the people of the Bahamas who suffered during Hurricane Dorian. All Dress Down money collected this term will go to this cause. If you have any other ideas of how we can help the people in the Bahamas, please discuss with your class, teacher and School Councillor.
And remember, any other ways in which you feel we could make a positive difference, do put your ideas forward; let us see what we can all achieve together.
