Year 6 were recently proactive in the community raising both awareness and donations for Jill Beckingham’s initiative: Foot Steps 4 Good. As you are probably aware, Jill walks across all of the Turks and Caicos Islands in order to promote and raise donations for organizations and charities who are prominent within our community. This was an excellent opportunity for our Year 6 children to both raise donations and participate in part of the walk here in Providenciales.
As part of our fundraising we kindly asked our Provo Primary School families to donate any loose change they had before our children took part in the walk.
The day itself was a huge success and it was pleasing to see so many members of our community active in this cause. Our children were true ambassadors for Provo Primary School as they demonstrated excellent manners towards other participants and a willingness to keep going despite the distance and heat!
We raised a generous sum of $80 through loose change! A huge thank you to all who donated and especially to our Year 6 children who were at the heart of it. The class have decided to award the donation to Provo Children’s Home.
