Preschoolers Keeping Healthy!

In Preschool this month, we have been experiencing and learning ways to keep ourselves healthy – this included exercising in preparation for our sports day events and learning about the importance of drinking water and eating fruits and vegetables. We involved parents and made links with the community which brought some furry fun into the preschool classroom….read on to find out more and to see the pictures!

We didn’t just think about keeping ourselves healthy, we also invited one of our Mums in to show us how she looks after a little baby. The children were very calm and quiet as they looked at all the things a baby needs every day. This included bath wash, toothbrush, toys and nappies – the children even helped to change the baby’s nappy.

We learned that our pets need to be taken care of too and thanks to the Potcake Foundation we had two little puppies to play with one morning! We fed them treats, stroked them and listened as we were told what puppies need and how to take care of them.

We also spent a morning pretending to be cats and made our very own cat collarsand drank milk – it was fun!

Yesterday we tasted watermelon and talked about how it tasted. The children came up with many different words to describe the watermelon…’juicy, juicy, juicy’…’messy’…’crunchy’…’cold’…and everyone agreed it was yummy and healthy! We made our very own watermelons to take home too…

Check back again soon for the next Preschool post!
