Whenever possible, we allow our children to participate in discussions and be involved in the school’s decision-making processes, in order to give them the opportunity to make real choices and understand consequences. Their views are listened to and acted upon where appropriate. Our School Council was set up in 2008 and has achieved much in it’s first few years for our school, and our local and wider community.
There are two School Council representatives for each class. They are elected by children in the class to go to School Council meetings and take part in discussions. They let the class know what was discussed at meetings. They also take the views of classmates to the School Council. They are then involved in projects that the School Council runs.

The School Council has done much to improve the school environment, with suggested improvements to our play areas and classrooms, clean-ups and energy saving projects. Each month we have a Dress Down Day and the School Council researches and chooses local and worldwide charities that the donations from these will support.
