The Kindergarten Class has made a fantastic start to the first term. They have spent the first week getting to know each other, getting to know the Kindergarten routines and getting to know their teachers.
We have had fun painting, drawing, cutting and sticking in the classroom, experiencing our re-vamped outdoor play area as well as spending time in the new soft play classroom. We have sung, we have danced, we have played and we have laughed whilst we have been learning and here are the photographs to prove it….
The children have been busy in all areas of the classroom….
Construction Corner sees the children getting very busy building with the blocks and wooden pieces, playing with lego and other construction toys.
To assess number recognition and counting we have been playing games such as match the correct number of ants to the numbers on the pictures and we have been recognising and ordering numbers to 10, and even 20!
The whole class helped to make a 0 to 20 numberline by decorating numbers with beads and other craft materials. We use the end result to help us develop our number skills during whole class oral number activities.
Creative Kindergarteners have endless fun on the keyboard, enjoy dressing up, drawing and painting pictures.
We have taken the opportunity to explore the new soft play classroom. The ball pool was a big hit!…
…and we have enjoyed playing on the new equipment in the Early Years outdoor play area.
The children have been introduced to some of the alphabet sounds through Jolly Phonics and have enjoyed singing the songs and practising the actions for each sound. They have enjoyed storytime every morning and afternoon whether it be whole class or small group reading with Miss Hanna.
That’s all for now, please keep checking our blog for the next installment of Kindergarteners having fun!
