Kindergarten Travel Around the World!

This term in Senior Kindergarten we have been exploring different countries around the world. We started by making our own passports. We used the digital camera to take photographs of ourselves and stuck them in our passports. We also filled in all our personal details. Our passports are not all the same, as there are lots of different nationalities in our class!

In our ‘Africa’ week we read ‘Handa’s Surprise’. We wrote about our favourite animals from the book and the different fruits they love to eat! We also made lions using paper plates and our hand prints!

Last week we learnt about Australia. We made didgeridoos.

We made a paper chain snake.

Each week we make a stamp for the country we are visiting, to stick in our passport.

This week we are learning about China. February 7th is the first day of the Chinese new year. 2008 is the year of the rat. Today we painted our names using Chinese symbols. Come to the ICT suite to see our names displayed on the wall in the next few days!

I think this blog was great….of course I am somewhat biased….as my granddaughter goes to the school. I am very happy to see the programs that are being offered to the children there. Keep up the good work!

We really enjoyed looking at your pictures and reading about all the interesting activities you are doing in school. Did Miss Rebecca have to use her passport to go to the Dominican Republic?

    Dear Kindergarten,
We thought your international passports were really cool. Use your passports to come and visit the Antarctic in the Grade Four classroom.
