The Three Little Pigs

The Pre-schoolers and Junior Kindergarten classes have had lots of fun while exploring the world of Traditional Tales. Both classes started off by listening to the story of the Three Little Pigs…

The Pre-schoolers were excited after listening to the story and began working on a group project to make a large brick house.

They used roller brushes to paint the square base. They tore paper and pasted it onto the large, triangular roof. Tearing the paper was a difficult task!

Each child then made their own little house, again working with triangles and squares. And here they are…

All in all, this project assisted in developing the childrens’ social and cognitive skills, through taking turns, helping each other and listening to their peers. The Junior Kindergarten made their own houses during small group activities.

Each child was able to choose which house they liked best or which they thought they would like to live in. Most of them chose the brick house because they said that it was the ‘strongest’ and that the wolf couldn’t blow it down!
