As we take on ‘exploring our local TCI environment’ through Science, Social Studies, Dance and Music, Year 2 began scientific discovery by learning about the Queen Conch, one of the nationally recognised symbols of this great country.
As part of bringing our learning to life our class paid a visit to the Caicos Conch Farm for a tour of their fasinating facilities, followed by taking up an invitation to taste some delicious conch recipes at the Bay Bistro restaurant.

Well done to our dedicated environmentally-conscious families who rose early this morning to participate in the 5th annual Earth Day TCI Shines Clean-up campaign. Thank you for taking part in this community event to help keep our island ‘beautiful by nature’.
Students in Flamingo Class have been busy researching aspects of Ancient Roman life this week, in preparation for a great debate!
While the Year 3 Dolphins are busy learning about how a balanced meal should contain certain food groups to make a meal a ‘healthy meal’ – proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals (such as calcium) and a small amount of fats and sugars, the JK class have been busy growing their own vegetables, and selling lots of healthy, vitamin full fruits and vegetables at their class (make-believe) shop.

Last term certainly was busy with lots of events and activities that enriched the children’s learning. In particular, our Science theme week, PE showcases, sports days, bike-athons, community fundraisers and PTA bunny activities were all a great success. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all their hard work and support in helping us provide this wonderful variety of events – children, teachers, parents and community helpers alike.
