The preschoolers celebrated Father’s Day by inviting dads, brothers and grandfathers in for a special party. There was plenty to plan and prepare to get ready. Congratulations! You’ve Passed!

Two of our teaching assistants, Stevina Hall and Lourissia Garrick graduated this week, passing their Early Childhood Education Higher Level Certificate with flying colours. Congratulations to them both!

Private Eye Poetry

The children in Grades 3 – 6 have been writing poetry with Miss Bonnie, our visiting volunteer teacher from Canada. Steel Band Records Their First CD!

The very talented Grade 6 Provo Primary Steel Band were excited to record their first CD this week. With 13 tracks, this CD includes 13 of their favourite songs. Each child was presented with a copy of the CD at their Graduation and we hope that, in the future, it will always bring back fond memories of their early musical accomplishments. Curry Night was HOT!

What better way to raise funds than by enticing people with a good curry and Aqua certainly managed to cook up a feast! Over a hundred people ate, drank and socialized whilst listening to the mellow jazz sounds of Perry and Marvin, otherwise known as the SPICE Boys. Thank you Hannah for organizing this event, which was SPICEifically to raise funds to cool off our JK and K classes. What a FANtastic evening! Thanks everyone for your support.

Grades 2 and 3 Visit the Environmental Centre

Today, Grades 2 and 3 visited the Environmental Centre in The Bight. We would like to say a big thank you to Mr. Brian Riggs, the curator, who showed us around the displays and talked to us about the different habitats that our animals and plants share with us. He also spoke to us about ways in which we can help to protect the environment.

Grade 1's and 2's visit the Fire Station!

In May, the Grade 1 and 2’s went to visit the Fire Station. The children were shown around the station, they got the chance to sit in the fire engine and were able to spray the water hose! The children also learned about fire safety and what to do if there was a fire at home. The children even got into the local newspaper.

Amazing Transformations

Continuing our look at ‘How Things Grow’, the Toddlers have been learning about the amazing transformations which some animals and insects undergo.  They have seen how a caterpillar becomes a beautiful butterfly and how tadpoles grow legs and turn into frogs. We  have looked at the lifecycles of frogs and made our own sparkling ponds by painting paper plates.  There are lots of  great photos of us to see… [Read more…]

Grade 3 Design a TCI National Costume for Children

The National Costume of the Turks and Caicos was designed by our Director of Culture, Mr. David Bowen. As a part of our Design Technology this term, the Grade 3s have been busy designing their own Turks and Caicos National Costume for children.
